Adventurous Stills Rebrands to Outlaw Distillery
Tempe becomes home to a southwestern, multi-state spirits brand, Outlaw Distillery. Tempe, AZ
(PRESS RELEASE) Tempe-based craft distillery, Adventurous Stills, founded in 2016 and known for its grain-to-glass approach and community-driven ethos, has officially rebranded as Outlaw Distillery following the relocation of the Utah-based brand of the same name.
Outlaw Distillery’s relocation from Utah to Arizona marks a bold new chapter for both brands, uniting under a single name and expanding operations across state lines. With production facilities now in both Tempe and Salt Lake City, and company headquarters established in Tempe, Outlaw Distillery is set to become a leading player in the southwestern spirits scene. “I started as a fan of Adventurous Stills when I toured it three years ago,” said owner Tyler Halstead. “I was impressed with the quality, local focus, and their community, so relocating to Arizona and building on the existing foundation of Adventurous Stills made a lot of sense as the next step in the Outlaw story.”
The rebrand reflects continuity in spirit, not a departure. Tempe’s craft spirits community can expect the same commitment to small-batch, grain-to-glass distilling using locally sourced ingredients—now with expanded capacity and a broader distribution footprint. “This is a change in brand, not a change in spirits,” added Halstead. “Relocating to Arizona further establishes our foothold as a premium craft spirits brand in the Southwest. I felt inspired by the incredible success of Arizona craft breweries and restaurants that focused on quality products, local ingredients, and a vibrant community.”
Outlaw Distillery will continue producing its signature lineup of whiskey, rum, vodka, and gin, while introducing new innovations made possible through the combined strengths of both facilities. The operational synergies eliminate production bottlenecks that had previously limited growth, allowing for greater creative flexibility and improved supply. While Utah offered a great environment for making whiskey, its restrictive sales landscape posed a challenge. With Arizona’s dynamic market and deep appreciation for craft beverage culture, Outlaw Distillery is poised for a fresh wave of community engagement, local partnerships, and regional expansion. Small batch gets a little bigger.
