USBG Bar Academy with Marcos Tello on agave spirits

As a member of the United States Bartender Guild (membership is also open to Enthusiasts and Industry Professionals),  I enjoy the many perks of being a USBG Phoenix Chapter member - discounts, cocktail competitions, industry events, and especially the educational seminars. Last week I attended an agave spirits Bar Academy held at the beautiful Hermosa Inn.  Led by Marcos Tello of Tello-Demarest Liquid Assets, we sipped our way through tequilas and mezcals as we learned about the history, regionality, and cooking, extraction, and distillation methods of these Mexican elixirs.  Afterwards, our group was treated to tacos for lunch, and some of us later retired to the Last Drop for cocktails at the bar with Travis and Brian.
