When Meridith May, my editor at SOMM Journal, asks if I would like to travel to wine country to cover an event, I never hesitate. It’s an immersive education on that region’s terroir, an opportunity to spend time with its vintners and producers, and a chance to network with colleagues and meet new friends around the country.
