Reliving the glamour, hope and confidence of the post-World War II era in which the resort opened to the public in 1948, Royal Palms is giving guests a glimpse into its storied journey with an evening of Frank Sinatra-inspired live jazz music and some of the most memorable dishes and libations from the resort’s celebrated restaurant, T. Cook’s. Guests can also enjoy a first look at new outdoor event spaces and exciting giveaways, including Spa and Dining experiences and the "Ultimate Royal Palms Stay". With a cocktail in hand, guests are invited to stroll the stunning grounds during this progressive evening where various culinary experiences welcome them along the way. Mountain Shadows Resort will host A Night of Culinary Stars, an exclusive dining event benefiting the James Beard Foundation. The evening will begin with a reception featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from local chefs and restaurateurs, including Scott Holmes (Little Miss BBQ, Phoenix), Cassie Shortino (Tratto, Phoenix), Chrysa Robertson (Rancho Pinot, Scottsdale), Doug Robson (Gallo Blanco, Otro Café, Phoenix), and Samantha Sanz (Talavera at The Four Seasons Resort, Scottsdale, AZ). Afterwards, guests will be seated for an extraordinary dinner prepared by Host Chef Charles Wiley (Hearth ’61 at Mountain Shadows, Paradise Valley, AZ), Local All-Star Charleen Badman (FnB, Scottsdale, AZ) and Visiting All-Star Maneet Chauhan (Morph Hospitality Group, Nashville, TN), who will curate a menu showcasing America’s rich and diverse culinary scene. On October 6, Chef Stratta takes guests through the process of preparing and serving game meats that are perfectly paired with produce of the fall harvest. Chef Stratta will be leading the interactive and instructional course on the following:

On October 13 - 14, 2018, the taco revolution returns as the 9th annual Arizona Taco Festival takes over 10 acres of grass of Salt River Fields in Scottsdale. One of the largest and most exciting food festivals in the nation, the 2018 AZ Taco Fest will feature everything from live bands and lucha libre wrestling, to eating contest and the popular Chihuahua dog beauty pageant.

The main attraction is the collection of 60 restaurants that will dish our over 100,000 $2 tacos while competing for $10,000 CASH in a competition judged by the National Taco Association. The 2018 Arizona Taco Festival will operate on a token system (aka taco bitcoin), where guests will simply trade their purchased tokens in exchange for tacos and margs. Plus, sip and savor your way through the Saturday Tequila Expo featuring samples of 100+ premium varieties, and the Sunday Margarita Expo, where over a dozen of the Valley's top mixologists shake up gourmet renditions of the world's most popular cocktail. (Additional tickets are required for these areas.) Of course, salsa, guacamole, and other Mexican-inspired fare will round out the weekend for a true Mexican foodie fiesta.

On November 18, the first Downtown Donut Festival will take place on the Sunday before Thanksgiving from 11am to 3pm at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix as an addition to the 4th Annual Phoenix Pizza Festival, which takes place on November 17, 2018.

At Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa’s Lunch & Learn series, top chefs join Sanctuary’s Executive Chef Beau MacMillan for interactive cooking demonstrations including a three-course meal with wine, live musical entertainment, Q&A opportunities and take-home recipes. Held in The Views Ballroom, the dinner events are priced at $145 per person (excluding tax and gratuity). Reservations are required and can be made by calling 480-607-2300.

Saturday, Aug. 25 – Tony Abou-Ganim, Samantha Sanz and Rene Andrade (dinner): Abou Ganim is a world-class mixologist, bar owner and author. He will be creating cocktails for a dinner by local chefs Samantha Sanz of Talavera, and Rene Andrade, formerly of elements, who is opening Tempe’s Ghost Ranch this summer. This will be a Mexican-inspired dinner, paired with Fortaleza tequila cocktails.

Saturday, Sept. 1 – Chef Danny Grant (dinner): Danny Grant is a chef and restauranteur based in Chicago. He was the youngest U.S. chef to earn two Michelin stars (2011 and 2012).  Grant will prepare a dinner, paired with some of California’s best wines.

Join Bitters Bar & Food as they host a WhistlePig "Chopped" style competition utilizing this year's release of the WhistlePig Farmstock blend. Cheer on some of the best craft cocktail bartenders and mixologists in the Valley as they compete to  determine who's the best whiskey slanger in the area.

Arrival begins at 1:30 pm. Competition starts at 2 pm. We will be featuring Farmstock 002 Bottled in Barn during the competition, and for the tasting we will be sampling Farmstock 002, 10, 12, and 15 year rye. Cocktails will be judged with the goal to be innovative, display great presentation, create a balanced cocktail, and incorporate the WhistlePig concept into each drink. Beer connoisseurs can beat the heat while sampling some of the best brews around at the fifth annual Real, Wild & Woody Indoor Beer Festival. The festivities, presented by the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, are slated to take place inside of the Phoenix Convention Center from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018. The annual festival is geared towards raising funds for the non-profit Guild as it continues the fight in transforming Arizona’s laws and beer culture to benefit small independent breweries.
