Grand Opening of Casa Amigos and Sky Lanes

skylanes.jpg

Valley-based nightlife & restaurant impresarios at Evening Entertainment Group (EEG) are proud to announce the openings of their latest Scottsdale landmarks, Casa Amigos and Skylanes. Both housed inside a soaring two-story space next to Bottled Blonde Pizzeria & Beer Garden, Casa Amigos is transforming the bottom floor into a stylish, spicy and downright sexy take on the traditional Mexican restaurant and lounge, while Skylanes upstairs is a music-centric boutique bowling club featuring bottle service late into the night.

Unspooling across the entire ground floor of this expanded, 16,000-plus square-foot building, Casa Amigos is designed by famed decorator and star of HGTV’s “Kitchen Crashers,” Alison Victoria, who previously collaborated with EEG on the popular Casa Añejo in Phoenix. Casa Amigos will import authentic Mexican fare to the heart of the Scottsdale Entertainment District, including signature build-your-own guacamole menus and late night dining. Plus Casa Amigos will also offer an extensive selection of handcrafted cocktails and icy cervezas, highlighted by dozens of premium sipping tequilas and mezcals and multiple Margarita varieties.

Upstairs at Skylanes, guests will discover a state-of-the-art bowling club and lounge like nothing Scottsdale has ever seen before. Featuring a striking, retro-modern décor, Skylanes’ guests can enjoy a high-energy mix of modern pop music and throwback 80s & 90s jams, paired with bowling and bottle service well into the night.

42 Grams presented by Devour Phoenix

42 Grams presented by Devour Phoenix

42grams.jpg

FilmBar & Devour Phoenix present the Arizona premiere of 42 GRAMS! With an introduction by a Guest Arizona Chef (TBA).

After working at some of the world’s best restaurants, Jake’s aggressive personality kept him from finding a kitchen to call home. A chef without a restaurant, Jake began cooking fifteen-course menus out of his apartment. Alongside his dedicated wife Alexa, their “underground” restaurant becomes a foodie hot spot. The experience is unique: they present refined flavors while dirty dishes soak in their bedroom. A year later, they take out a lease on an abandoned chicken joint to open a real restaurant, 42 Grams . The film follows them developing menus, hiring and firing staff, shows Jake’s temper, the strains on their marriage, and, extraordinarily, the awarding of two Michelin stars.

From Dec. 14 - 17, Sedona Northern Lights will be the country’s largest natural 3D projection mapping show as 3D art will be projected onto Camelhead Rock four times per night. Produced by LA-based PaintScaping, the large-scale art show will virtually transform the natural landscape.

One of the best views of the show will be at Kimpton Amara Resort and Spa and the resort’s signature restaurant, SaltRock Southwest Kitchen, that will play host to “front-row” room stays, dinner reservations and festivities within the courtyard overlooking Camelhead Rock and the much-loved Snoopy Rock (for a Write On Rubee Amara Resort trip report, visit this link).

With the show in perfect view, Amara and SaltRock guests can enjoy a variety of experiences during the four-day event, including:

  • A resort stay with room rates from $299 per night. Book at AmaraResort.com.
  • A three-course tasting menu at SaltRock by new Executive Chef Logan Stephenson ($55 per person). Reservations highly recommended (928-340-8803).
  • Courtyard festivities including playing cornhole and other games on the lawn; snuggling up under a cozy blanket in one of the many cheery, yellow Adirondack chairs; roasting marshmallows over the outdoor fireplaces with the resort’s S’mores kit; and enjoying libations at the outdoor bar that will serve wine, beer, hot chocolate and spiced cider.

Sedona Northern Lights will also be visible from all of Uptown Sedona and Gallery Row, with five- to six-minute art projections taking place at 6:00pm, 7:00pm, 8:00pm and 9:00pm every night from December 14-17. Sedona’s breathtaking scenery, considered one of Earth’s greatest treasures, will come to life during this once-in-a-lifetime event.
